Don't overpay for window replacement.

 Many times I have heard that customers have paid too much for window replacement & siding etc. On average new windows should not exceed approximately $400.00 per opening (10 windows x $400.00 = $4000.00) Large windows and patio doors will exceed this price range. When you are considering large purchases keep these tips in mind. 

1. Do not buy from a phone solicitor. you loose the power of choice. 

2. Shop and compare. 

3. Ask for recommendations.  I have worked with many contractors over the years. You can give me a call any time to see if I have someone I can recommend. A lot of the home center stores also have some great references. I also have access to our companies concierge referral program of pre-screened contractors that I can refer you to at no cost.

Furnace Filters  To keep you furnace working at peak capacity, you should change your filter monthly. This will also keep your home cleaner and you will have to dust less. Write you furnace filter size on the side of the furnace with a permanent marker and also write down the size into your day planner along with you printer cartridge sizes for easy shopping.

Home Warranties Many companies are offering home maintenance plans or home warranties. Some come in conjunction with a home purchase. Others can be purchased from local utility companies or home centers. When considering the purchase of a home warranty read carefully the coverage and exclusions, and then consider the cost. Companies that sell small electronics are reported to make more money on the warranty that on the sale of the item. Something to think about?
